Notes:
BSI (Business System Interoperation) is a generic tool to facilitate interoperation between different business systems that have not been designed specifically to interoperate. BSI is very useful for achieving interoperation both inside an organisation and between organisations.
BSI is very quick and easy to install in both existing and new systems. It can be used with application programs written in most common languages and with legacy systems with import/export capability.
Changes can be made unilaterally. No prior discussions or arrangements need to be made with other parties and the effect of the change implemented through to all interoperating business systems fully automatically.
BSI represents a major step forward in that it can be shrink-wrapped with application software and installed invisibly with it. At this point, BSI becomes quite invisible. So BSI does not involve any end-user training, learning curve or upheaval within the organisation in the early stages. Thus, for the first time, SMEs who are dependent on business software packages, can trade electronically in a cost effective manner.
For the end users there are no prior discussions, no re-engineering of the business processes or systems, no manual set up and no organisation between parties for implementation or changes.
A truly practical solution to the automated interoperation problem.
